There are more than 30 people in my extended family. My immediate family of four live in Wuhan in Hubei Province. The others live in my parents’ village. We’d planned to go to their village to celebrate the Chinese New Year on January 25 but couldn’t leave home due to the lockdown in Wuhan. More than 20 other members of our extended family gathered at my parent's home for dinner on January 25. The next day, my cousin developed a fever and cough. He thought he had caught a cold. Two days later, he could no longer bear it and went to a hospital. He tested positive for the coronavirus. My cousin's wife called me four days later and told me my cousin had been hospitalized. I called him right away and asked how he was. He told me he had been given medicine, but his fever wouldn’t go down. I told him that no specific medicine could cure him. But I comforted him and said he would be fine if he would recite two phrases, “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” He did not object to my suggestion, but neither did he accept it. Some of the more than 30 people in my extended family practice Falun Gong. Most of the others support Falun Gong and have quit their memberships in the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations. But my cousin was misled by the CCP’s propaganda and attacked Falun Gong in public. We talked to him many times, but he did not stop attacking Falun Gong. I called him again the next day and gave him some examples of people who had recovered from serious illnesses after reciting “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” He repeated the two phrases twice and agreed to continue on his own. I called him again the following day. He told me his fever had disappeared the night before, after he started to recite the two phrases. He said he felt revived. He was released from the hospital a short time later. My cousin's wife believes in Falun Gong and said she likes to read Falun Gong books because they alleviate her stress. She also likes to listen to Minghui Radio and sometimes practices the Falun Gong sitting meditation. She took care of her husband while he was in the hospital. She was in close contact with coronavirus patients and was quarantined for 14 days before she was allowed to go home. The village did not isolate any other members of her immediate family or our extended family. My cousin has a son and a granddaughter, who both had close contact with him, but they were not infected by the virus. None of the other twenty-plus people in our extended family got ill after having New Year's dinner with my cousin. The people in my parents’ village asked why the virus had not infected any other members of our family. We believe it is because we practice Falun Gong. Background Falun Gong was first taught to the public in 1992. By the late 90s, nearly 100 million people across China were practicing Falun Gong after experiencing improvements in their health and character. Jiang Zemin, former head of the CCP, perceived the spiritual discipline's growing popularity as a threat to the CCP's atheistic ideology and issued an order to persecute Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. Minghui.org has confirmed the deaths of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners in the persecution over the past 21 years, though the actual number of deaths is suspected to be much higher. Many more people have been imprisoned and tortured for their faith. A large body of evidence shows that the CCP has sanctioned the harvesting of organs from detained prisoners of conscience, who are murdered to supply China's booming transplant industry. Under Jiang's personal direction, the CCP established the 610 Office, an extralegal security organization with the power to override the police and judicial systems and whose sole function is to carry out the persecution of Falun Gong. The spread of the Wuhan pneumonia pandemic was exacerbated by the CCP’s censorship and disinformation. Many examples around the world show that distancing from the CCP keeps the virus away. The underlying story of this article demonstrates this fact in action. I hope that people, governments, and nations around the world will think about the decisions they have made and choose to distance themselves from the CCP for a safe future.

The 147th Annual Meeting and Expo of the American Public Health Association (APHA) was held at the Pennsylvania Conference Center in Philadelphia, November 2 - 6, 2019. During the gathering of 12,000 of the world's most influential public health professionals, many learned about the Chinese communist regime's large-scale extrajudicial killing of prisoners of conscience and religious adherents for organ transplants. The CCP's state-sanctioned live organ harvesting drew attention during the 2019 APHA Annual Meeting Founded in 1872, APHA is the world's oldest and most academically diverse public health organization. The 2019 meeting and expo was attended by representatives from governments, universities, research institutes, organizations, hospitals, and health care providers from around the world. There were also a large number of attendees from China and those studying abroad. New York-based China Organ Harvest Research Center (COHRC) participated in the meeting for the third time with oral and poster presentations. COHRC revealed one of the most hideous human rights disasters of the 21st century, which alarmed participants. Unlike black market organ trafficking in some countries, the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) on-demand forced live organ transplants from prisoners of conscience are state-sanctioned and operated by the military and local institutions. The COHRC exposed the CCP's live organ harvesting during the 27th International Congress of Transplant Society (TTS) in Spain in July 2018, the American Transplant Congress (ATC) in June 2019, and the 19th Congress of the European Society of Organ Transplant in Denmark in September 2019. At the end of October, the COHRC was invited to the annual meeting of the American Society of Bioethics and Humanity (ASBH). The COHRC shared its latest research results with special presentations on the nature, scale, organ source, driving factors, and impact of China's forced organ harvesting.

A Minghui article earlier this year reported that the U.S. Department of State would tighten visa approval and border entry to human rights violators. The article listed several applicable U.S. laws and a presidential proclamation that allow those who persecute religious belief to be denied visa or entry. There is actually another law as described in 8 USC 1182f that directly applies to perpetrators in China involved in coerced organ transplantation: Title 8-ALIENS AND NATIONALITY CHAPTER 12-IMMIGRATION AND NATIONALITY SUBCHAPTER II-IMMIGRATION Part II-Admission Qualifications for Aliens; Travel Control of Citizens and Aliens §1182f. Denial of entry into United States of Chinese and other nationals engaged in coerced organ or bodily tissue transplantation (a) Denial of entry Notwithstanding any other provision of law and except as provided in subsection (b), the Secretary shall direct consular officers not to issue a visa to any person whom the Secretary finds, based on credible and specific information, to have been directly involved with the coercive transplantation of human organs or bodily tissue, unless the Secretary has substantial grounds for believing that the foreign national has discontinued his or her involvement with, and support for, such practices. (b) Exception The prohibitions in subsection (a) do not apply to an applicant who is a head of state, head of government, or cabinet-level minister. In addition, a question was added in June 2011 to DS-160, “Nonimmigrant Visa Application,” “Have you ever been directly involved in the coercive transplantation of human organs or bodily tissue?” The total number of organs transplanted in China far exceeds the donor sources published by the Chinese Communist Party. A large amount of evidence has surfaced in recent years confirming that this discrepancy is largely due to organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners in China. We hereby suggest that Falun Gong practitioners in China collect information on hospital officials, doctors, and nurses involved in forced organ harvesting. We will review the information and submit a list to the U.S. State Department for tighter visa vetting, and denial of entry, if applicable. Practitioners can also inform these medical professionals of the aforementioned “1182f. Denial of entry into United States of Chinese and other nationals engaged in coerced organ or bodily tissue transplantation.” Once they know that their information is being collected, they may have less incentive to participate in forced organ harvesting. We can also encourage medical professionals in China to collect evidence from their own hospitals regarding use of organs from unknown sources. They may submit such information to practitioners in China or to Minghui.org. We may in turn exclude their names from the list to be submitted to the U.S. State Department. Moreover, according to an official in the U.S. State Department, visa approval is a privilege, not a right. Although the U.S. courts follow a presumption of innocence, that is, one is considered innocent unless proven guilty, visa approval does not work this way. With reasonable doubt, a visa officer can deny a visa in the absence of sufficient evidence. Medical professionals in China may be denied a visa to the U.S. if there is reasonable doubt that they have been involved in forced organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners. The information needed includes name, gender, age (birth date, month, and year if possible, to aid in accurate identification), workplace, job title (hospital manager, doctor, nurse, etc.), and other related information.
