How Deep Can a Dive Watch REALLY Go? Deep Sea Chamber test!

Beyond the press

Uukausi sitten

How deep can you really dive with cheap dive watch from Amazon? We are going to use our deep sea / pressure chamber and test two diver's watch for their maximum depth / pressure! Our deep sea chamber goes all the way to 300 bars that equals 3 kilometers or 2 miles of depth so we can simulate conditions on bottom of the ocean in this experiment.

I just ordered the Vostok Amphibia which has been most requested watch to test with this. So subscribe the channel to see that one :D

@J. T It would hold up better than any watch with a glass front cover, but, you're still doing something crazy that is well beyond even being run over by a truck !

if the Vostok survives, I'd love to see how it would hold up in the Hydraulic press!

Fantastic quality watches for the price. Just have to buy bands because the stock bands are so, so, bad

You'll be amazed, they'll go to over 700m ! You can also replace the rear cover or acrylic after the test and fix the watch !

So approximately 9000 feet for us Americans over here for reference the Mariana trench the deepest part of any ocean on earth or any liquid mask with a hole in the middle at all is roughly 36 thousand feet.

3:24 The first watch fails at 28.6 bars and it was rated for 300 metres, so it failed 14 metres before its max depth. You can ask citizen to replace it ;)

To both of you. Your English is pretty good. I'm an American and can understand everything both of you say. Congratulations, because English is hard to learn because of many meanings for a single word.

the dugena seconds hand missing the mark. for me this is a pass on the dugena. the citizen is not a certified diver it is just a 100m waterproof watch. diver style watch. maybe you need to test the citizen ny0040

hardly scientific! correct depth of failure not defined accurately.. but the citizen performed admirably given it's NOT. a diver

I bought a watch with 3 bar rating, I went to shower and it got wet. I then bought a watch with 5 bar rating, it didn't get wet after shower, but after some swimming in the pool (2 meters) it got wet... I was then decided to go straight to 20 bar and I got a similar watch to that from the second experiment (survived 300 bar). Mine is from INVICTA. So conclusion is, that if you want to have a water resistant watch, you need to get the one rated for 10 or 20 bar?

At 9:40 you can see the second stop and the minute hand move after it stops. Also the dial gets deflections as you can see the center of the hands refracting light differently

So to conclude. The safe way of reading the depth limit is to add another 0 at the end of the rated number of meters.

I guess u can answer me well I wore my g shock for swimming being just 4 feet deep and my watch mentions out to be 200m W.R. i was in water for just 1 hour and washed my watch from normal water too as mentioned in the booklet . So after all this half and hour passed i guess even more i was all dry and set to go but later i noticed my watch's minute hand got bent and was stuck at 6 and wasnt moving so that was something strange i noticed many said you watch is fake and all and i didnt got any article related to this issue. My watch is true and 100 percent legit. GA10004ADR is model reference. The above issue occurred in the year of 2017 being in warranty period saved me. Looking for help from any one. Thanks.

I was always told that it’s best to take the atm figure then half it.. So a 300m watch should be good for around 150m... Then there is the issue of gaskets not being replaced or just being damaged when a battery is changed...
Battalon 15 päivää sitten
For me only the operative condition counts. If it stopped working it is done. Citizen is not as underrating their performance like Gshock... but it's still good. I always thought, that these 200m ratings are not as accurate. I am amazed, that good companies are standing behind their claims!
Battalon 15 päivää sitten
Nearly the best test I have seen (just slightly below the Gshock test). So many cheap watches claiming to be waterproof up to 1000m instead they get destroyed below 200m. Your channel deserves a lot more subs!

I wish they had a watch person there who could have opened and described what actually caused the failure. I was fascinated by the Citizens performance as he released the pressure. I'm guessing the case back failure was the culprit at the normal pressures. The crush failure was fantastic.

Either the video jumped or it started to fail at 50 meters. The second hand jumped like 5 seconds at ~ 8:25 (50 meters) to me that makes it worthless even if it functions a bit still a watch in a bell bounce that skips time at 50 meters is dangerous
